Hebrews 12:1 — “Let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us.”

Reflect on this
There’s something oddly satisfying about a dump run. You load the truck with all the junk that’s been piling up—old scraps, broken things, stuff you once thought you’d use but now just takes up space. By the time you pull out of the landfill, there’s a strange sense of relief.
Our souls work the same way. We collect junk—regrets, bad habits, old wounds, attitudes that stink the longer we let them sit. Left alone, it piles up until there’s no room for anything new.
That’s why the writer of Hebrews tells us to “throw off everything that hinders.” He doesn’t say polish it or store it neatly. He says get rid of it. Some things don’t belong in your heart anymore, and the only way forward is to haul them out.
Take Action
This week, ask yourself: What junk have I been holding onto that God is telling me to dump?
A resentment?
A compromise?
A secret sin?
A weight that keeps me from running free?
Make your own “dump run.” Write it down. Pray it out. And let it go.
Closing Declaration
“Father, I release what doesn’t belong. Clear out the junk so You can fill me with what lasts.”
